Juneteenth Motorsports Celebration In The Books!

Juneteenth Motorsports Celebration, commemorates the motorsports enthusiasts, and the freedom to drive. Held this year at Thunderhill Raceway Park(West), with a picturesque landscape of Willows CA, the inaugural event was perfect. This was not just a test of speed but an opportunity to rejoice in freedom while embracing the experience of HPDE.

As a holiday, it's where the enslaved gained freedom on June 19, 1865, when 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army finally announced that over 250,000 enslaved black people in the state of Texas, were finally free by an executive decree. Now known as "Juneteenth," this holiday celebrates the newly freed people in Texas.

The American road represented freedom, but the reality in the 20th century, for African Americans, also had the ever present danger from Jim Crow. To help African American families find safer routes, businesses to visit, hotels, and more, The Green Book, helped be a guiding light through that darkness. Enabling African American families to get a bit of that freedom back.

Inspired by the two historical events, the JMC, is a vibrant celebration of automotive culture for everyone. This event invites people of all kinds to the track to build friendships, improve their driving skills, immerse themselves in an experience that fuses a cultural moment with the freedom that driving promised. JMC emphasizes a community spirit and shared passion for grassroots motorsport, while inspiring the next generation of automotive enthusiasts.
